Siddhartha jumps From Teacher to Teacher

In the book Siddhartha, the main character Siddhartha bounces from teacher to teacher on his path to nirvanna. "On the same day, Siddhartha informed the eldest Samana of his decieon to leave." This qoute demestrates that he jumps from teacher to teacher because he feels like he learns everything from the teacher and wants to go and continue his learning with another teacher. The same thing kind of happened in my life because in 3rd grade I switvched classes 3 different times. I did this because I didnt have any friend in my first class, and when Idont have friend in my class I dont participate and therefore cant learn anything new. When Siddharta leaves the Samans he goes to a buddha called Gotama, the same thing happens there that happened with the Samans. "...I must judge for myself. I must choose and reject..." In this qoute Siddhartha approaches the Illusion One and says that he is like him and cannot reach nirvanna by teaching but by finding it on his own. I felt the same way about golf. I was struggling deeply with my swing and getting the ball to fly right. Inever could get it right with all the teachings my dad set me up with. One day at the range Ijust worked on it until Ireached the swing Iwanted and none of the teachings provided me with this they gave me little pointers but none could forsure fix this swing. It is the same with siddharta and the budda. He has to leave him and his teachings to figure out his goal on his own. throughtout the first part of the book siddharta is going from teacher to teacher trying to learn the ways  but realizes that he needs to find his path to nirvanna on his own and not guided by teachers.

  1. I really like your golf analogy. Your explanation of the two quotes needs to be more interpretive. Remember that your job is to expand on what happens in the book and make it into a general lesson. Your explanation pretty much restates what happens in the book. In a 5-paragraph essay, this paragraph would earn a b-
